Risk & commercial faculty

The Ferryfield Group

Quantitative risk analysis, commercial modelling and strategic decision support for international and national oil companies and energy investors.

United Kingdom

The Ferryfield Group, based in the United Kingdom, is the strategic risk team on the GIL faculty.

Its founding partners, Craig Ferri and Doug Oldfield, worked together at Palisade Corporation, makers of the well-known @RISK software. During Craig’s 16 years at Palisade, as Managing Director of its European operations, he oversaw the expansion of the business into the Middle East, Africa, India and the Asia-Pacific region. As a member of Palisade’s global leadership team, he was responsible for the organisation’s strategic expansion plans.

Doug joined Palisade in 2008 to develop a new sales territory, the Middle East, and grew it into one of Palisade’s most successful regions. On the strength of that success he went on to grow the business in Africa, India and the United Kingdom. He has delivered more than 1,700 presentations around the world.

With more than 30 years’ combined experience in risk, they set up The Ferryfield Group in 2020. Ferryfield’s mission, then and now, is to provide specialised services in quantitative risk analysis (QRA).

GIL’s partnership with Ferryfield brings to the faculty a team with an unmatched record across a wide range of projects and industries.
